Prepare the Tofu

  • Press the tofu with a weight to drain the water thoroughly.
  • Cut the drained tofu into bite-sized cubes, about 2cm (3/4 inch) each.

Coat the Tofu

  • Place the tofu cubes and potato starch into a plastic bag.
  • Shake the bag gently to coat the cubes evenly without breaking them.

Pan-Fry

  • Heat salad oil in a frying pan over medium heat and arrange the tofu cubes.
  • Cook until all sides are golden brown and crispy.

Finish

  • Remove the tofu and drain the excess oil well.
  • While still hot, place them in a bowl and toss with salt and coarsely ground black pepper.
